"It’s the leftover humans. The survivors. They’re the ones I can’t stand to look at, although on many occasions I still fail. I deliberately seek out the colors to keep my mind off of them, but now and again, I witness the ones who are left behind, crumbling along the jigsaw puzzle of realization, despair and surprise. The have punctured hearts. They have beaten lungs."

pretty much.

pretty much.

Rise with the sun, fall with the stars. Balance on an axis. Rotation & cycle of life, planetary orbital patterns. Ups and downs. Rises and falls of your chest while you’re breathing. Ebbs and flows of the tide, pulled by the moon. Harmony. Attained when you don’t fight the world but work with it. Stands to reason that the sun is a large provider of energy- why wouldn’t we want to rise with it and absorb it, instead of sleeping while it’s in the sky? It even tells time, and time will always tell. Too much of a good thing causes cancer. Back to that balance piece on my balance beam. I rise with the sun, fall with the stars. No star is forever, but the light is still traveling out there, always trying to beat the speed of darkness, because wherever the light goes, the darkness has always beat it there.  © Scarlett Sinatra/AE
